2024-12-17 | Professor Babuška Prize
____________________________________

Our graduate Ivana Řeřuchová won `the Professor Babuška Prize <https://www.csm.cz/en/the-prof-babuska-prize-competition/>`_ for her diploma thesis, which is awarded in the field of computer science. `Her master thesis <https://www.vut.cz/en/students/final-thesis/detail/156566>`_ concerned modelling the interaction between oscillating vocal folds and fluid flow. Congratulations! The ceremony took place at  `the Institute of Thermomechanics of the CAS <https://www.it.cas.cz/en/homepage-en/>`_, where she and her supervisor Petr Hájek also visited the voice research laboratory.
The award was also presented to Petra Helešicová, who was unable to attend the ceremony.

2024-09-04 | Professor Wang's visit in Brno
___________________________________________

Prof. Wang from the `National Taipei University of Technology <https://www-en.ntut.edu.tw/>`_ visited Brno again. He met his colleagues from the `Faculty of Mechanical Engineering <https://www.fme.vutbr.cz/en/>`_, `Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication <https://www.fekt.vut.cz/en/home>`_ and also from the `Institute of Physics of Materials <https://www.ipm.cz/en/>`_. The research group focuses on 3D printing of smart materials for use in bioapplications.

2023-06-25 | 3D Model of a Vascular Malformation
________________________________________________

Malformation – this is a congenital vascular disease. A cluster of blood vessels and tissues forms under the skin, which can resemble a large tumor. Doctors at the University Hospital Brno can now use life-size 3D models created in our laboratory during operations.
